Nick felt as if he needed to take responsibility for the arrangements of Gatsby's funeral. He gets ahold of people who he believes would want to come, but no one, not even Daisy, wanted to come to his funeral. There were very few people who ended up showing at the funeral. The relationship between Jordan and Nick didn't work out because Jordan had been engaged to another man.
